Environmental Services at FAA Stations

Federal Aviation Administration
Location: Western Service Area, Alaska
Contract Value: $25 million

Ahtna was awarded a $25M ID/IQ contract with the Federal Aviation Administration. Our scope of work includes site investigations, tank testing/removal and replacements; remediation system design and installation; site preparation, removal actions, site restoration, and demolition at sites located at various active and former installations within the Western Service Area.

To-date, Ahtna has completed at least 30 environmental task orders. Throughout contract execution, we have managed at least 12 task orders concurrently, in multiple locations throughout the FAA’s Western Service Region, including remote locations, as well as in arctic environment conditions which required complex logistics and transportation plans involving the use of several different types of aircraft, including a C-130, Skyvan, Otter, and Navajo, to transport equipment, supplies, and personnel living in remote camps.

Ahtna negotiated at least 30 site closures on behalf of the FAA. In addition, as a result of our leadership in the use of the HRC and the design/implementation of NextGen technologies, Ahtna has become the ‘go-to’ company for the FAA for any additional work.  Ahtna has also represented the FAA at a national conference regarding the use of HRC.
