USAF Repair of HVAC Units at Los Angeles AFB
Ahtna procured and replaced 11 chiller and air handler units, 80 to 300 tons in capacity, on this 4-story satellite control building without impact to USAF operations.
Ahtna was awarded a $3.1M project to perform a design-build project to replace 11 roof-mounted HVAC units from 80 to 300 tons cooling capacity at Building 271 of the Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, California. In addition, the project also addressed the following:
- Energy efficiency
Energy efficient equipment meets or exceeds ASHRAE 90.1- 2007. Premium efficiency motors, VFD on supply and return/exhaust fans, energy recovery, airfoil fans, hermetic scroll compressors and economizers were used to achieve maximum energy savings.
This project received an Outstanding CCASS rating.
